“ I have trained with Chris now for over 3 years. I have never left a session thinking “I didn’t like that”, whatever he has us doing he always emphasises an element of fun and positivity. His encouragement throughout is boundless. At the end of each session I have always felt a sense of achievement and left on an “exercise high”. The sense of achievement is not just from me working throughout it is also because Chris somehow makes you want to work as hard as you can.

For the past 10 months with the lockdowns, Chris has delivered 5 classes a week of mixed training from Hittstep and Cardio to strength and conditioning. Chris performs these classes “live” with you and it is as if he is in the room with you. As I feel I am about to sink to my knees I hear him chirp up “come keep going to the end” or “nearly there” and it gives me the motivation to continue. Chris spends a significant amount of time at the beginning of each session warming us up and then going through the exercises, concentrating on the form required therefore giving us the most opportunity to benefit the greatest. At the end of each session the cool down is as thorough.

Chris never ceases to be cheerful throughout the classes and his ability to keep people motivated even when via a screen is incredible. I often find myself laughing as well as grimacing throughout each session! He has enabled us all to still feel connected. I could not recommend Chris and his training sessions more highly!

I know I have personally benefited hugely from them and dare I say it thoroughly enjoyed them… I even look forward to whatever torture he has dreamed up for us each week... I have also realised that I have never missed a session with Chris in over 3 years unless it has been for work, holiday or I have been ill. “

“ I started training with Chris after the first lockdown in June. My passion was swimming but due to the lockdown I was unable to continue my training. I wasn’t in a particularly good place. I had started training in the gym & cycling.

Chris picked me up & set goals for me. Suggesting a sprint tri seemed out of my reach. “I hate running” was my growling response. Well January 2021… still no swimming, however I am comfortably running 10k and loving it. Training on Zwift with impressive mph averages and am ready for my first triathlon whenever that maybe.

My strength training with Chris have supported my running, cycling & swimming. In my 50th year I feel fitter than I was in my 20s & my mental health is so much better.

Thank you Chris, what a difference you have made to my life. I will have to say it’s still a love/hate relationship. Love the results at times hate the pain. “

“ I first started training with Chris about two years ago when he was teaching HIITstep classes in Stamford. I have also enjoyed his METAfit classes and weights classes. He doesn’t now have a base that close to where I live but I’m willing to travel to attend his live classes, that’s how much I enjoy them. Chris is a very enthusiastic trainer and makes his classes fun, varied, challenging but doable. He always encourages you to push yourself as hard as you can and not to give up. He makes you feel like you own your workout and that inspires me to keep going when I otherwise might want to give up. My fitness and confidence have definitely improved since doing his classes.

Chris is approachable if you have any questions and always gives options if an exercise is difficult for you due to injury or body / fitness limitations. I train with Chris two/three times a week. During the pandemic he moved his teaching to online video classes. He has built up a great network of clients on a private Facebook group who all help to encourage and motivate each other to train to their best during a difficult time. I always feel uplifted and energised at the end of his workouts even though I am often a hot, sweaty wreck haha.

He’s also there for you if you have any fitness or nutrition questions and hosts occasional Facebook live chats to answer such questions too. I’m looking forward to continuing to train with Chris whether it’s online or hopefully back in a live class environment before too long. “

“ I would just like to say that your classes especially through the first lockdown were the only thing kept me going, I used to look forward to them every day doing them to break up the day whether that be live time or after I had finished work either way it helped to keep me positive when everything else was all doom & gloom. Even though lockdown still remains altho a little different I still continue to mix up my training now by including doing either old workouts or by joining in with some of your lives. You have really kept me sane and I thank you for it! You do a great job and I absolutely love Hiitstep! Thank you just keep doing what your doing mate! “

“ I just want to say a HUGE Thank you to Chris; he honestly has changed my life! I first walked into empire gym after a friend recommended that I attend the HIITSTEP class due to how much she enjoyed it. I was very sceptical about going into a gym/classes as I’m not so confident in new environments but I fell in love with HIITSTEP and more importantly Chris’ teaching style.

Chris is so motivating, he actually does the class with your rather than just standing there shouting in instructions. Always encouraging and telling you to keep going, or shows you an alternative move if it’s getting tough. But as Chris says ‘Just Keep Moving’

I have seen a huge change in my body during the lockdown period and I was wondering how long I’d keep up the home workouts but I just want to keep doing more and more. Chris puts on such a variety of classes and something for everyone regardless of your ability. He’s always guiding you through the work outs, and how if it’s tough drop the weights or encourages you to go that tiny by faster and push yourself right to the last set.

I honestly can’t thank Chris enough for changing my life for the better and having such a more positive mindset around exercise and how to stick to my goals. He works so hard to keep everyone motivated at home, it can’t be easy being a teacher when you have no students in front of you only virtually especially in the fitness world! So hats off to you Chris! Your a legend! “

“ An important point from the outset from start that Chris made clear is that what you do in the gym is only 20% of the story, how you eat is the rest. My journey from here on became a blend of HiitStep, weekly PT sessions and mixing in MetaFit or Circuits. How did it all help me? Well finding someone who showed empathy and disciple inspired me to stay hooked, week on week seeing gains, small changes that over time became the foundations to where I find myself in 2021.

Aside from exercise and encouraged by Chris I went on a nutrition journey in order to see how I could compliment my efforts further, an investment I treasure given the events of 2020. We arrived at March 2020 and my PT session with Chris never felt like it would be the last that said we entered these strange times. The lockdown left me stunned like many and nervous how 12 months of PT and different classes could ever be replicated…let alone the mental resolve to eat well.

Then Chris made the move that shows the resolve of the man for his client…in your lounge HIIT step, Circuits, HIIT cardio along with check in live sessions. His mantra at the time was “find a way to adapt” … something that has again become a resounding key stone in my own fitness journey in the new normal.Putting everything together in the last 2 years I can now see visibly the muscle gain and more importantly the discipline to undertake exercise every day in some form with the guilt kicking in when I miss a day for whatever reason. I know what works for me, where my limits are and where my blind spots are…I can talk with Chris and he will make a suggestion and off I go to try something new. I’m hooked, I’m grateful and above all humbled to have met someone who I’ve clicked with and seen so much transformation. “

“ I started training with Chris about 2 years now with the introduction from a friend. I was stuck in a rut with my workouts and couldn’t get motivated again. After going to Hiitstep I found my love of working out again and having Chris as an instructor pushed me beyond what I was doing on my own.

During the first lockdown I had to homeschool a 6 year old and look after a 3 year old, Chris kept his classes going live which helped me mentally and physically. Sometimes taking that half hour away for my self at a set time made me feel I could cope with it all. Once I went back to work I still had Chris’s classes sent to me so they could be completed in my own time which gave me the routine I needed each day.

I do think if I didn’t start Chris’s classes I wouldn’t be as motivated to workout as I do, his encouragement is amazing and I thank you for the last couple of years. “
